Acorns

I was walking home from school the other day when I took an acorn.

There was a kid standing outside his bus with a handful of acorns. He was asking everyone if they wanted a free acorn. I grabbed one as I walked by and he said "Thank you"

I put the acorn in my pocket and didn't give it a second thought.  I reached into my pocket a couple days later and the acorn was there. I was having a bad day and it really made me smile, People can be so nice. I know it is just an acorn but it is the simplicity that makes me smile.

To this day I still don't know what he meant when he said "Thank you," but I will forever hold the acorn in my pocket.
